Welcome to The O'Leary-Hauser Blog!

Written with love, honesty, and humor to let you have a peek into our lives as the boys grow and have many exciting years of fun, adventure, love, and happiness (with hopefully minimal mishaps).

Nico's B-Day Party

Who wouldn't enjoy a morning of playing and superhero worship?? (plus swinging on a rope for most of the time)??!!!

WHPS Room 5 - End of the Year Picnic

Even though the kids are still together all summer with the same teachers and in the same room, they had an "end of the year" picnic to give the parents all of the kids' remaining artwork, give cute awards to the kids, let them run around a park and play (aka scream), etc.

Science Class

Little Acorns Grow opened up a second location for Kindergarten - and to draw people in to check out the new digs they offered a series of free classes - so we checked out the science class.

G had a great time, learned a lot, and even held out his hand for a "rocket" to blast off after a chemical reaction.

Turning a liquid into a solid . . .

Actually paying attention . . .

Boys' favorites - snakes . . .

And spiders . . .

Blast off . . .

B just ran around, played, and did a little light reading.

Back to The Getty

The boys love the train from the parking to the museum, mom and dad love walking through the galleries, and everyone had a great meal at the museum's restaurant which has great food and an even more spectacular view (perched on a hilltop overlooking the pass from the city into the Valley).

We like going around 4 on Saturdays when we can eat and then walk around for an hour or two before heading home and going to bed.  The galleries are open late Sat PM - perfect fun for the family.

Plus -  maybe some culture will seep into their little minds in the process.

G and B were particularly wound up this time - so best to only take photos on the view - we were busy making sure no little hands touched any sculptures - especially since we were very intrigued on this particular visit that there were lots of statues with penises showing - which both boys pointed out in VERY loud voices.

Thanks for that.

One Happy Little Kid

Bounce bounce class (what we call Brady's class at My Gym) is one of Brady's favorites.

Understandable - jumping, climbing, hanging, swinging, stairs, ball pits, obstacle courses, and this week - Eric helping Brady do a handstand.  What's not for a super active little boy not to love??!!!

The expression says it all.

Oakdale

Freckleface Strawberry

Garrett and I went to the musical production adapting Julianne Moore's book to the stage - basically a story about being comfortable in your own skin.

We stayed afterwards to get autographs of the actors and actresses - here is a photo of him with Zoe - the actress who played Freckleface Strawberry.

Little Acorns Grow

Brady sometimes has more fun playing at Little Acorns Grow before and after class than in the animal class itself . . .
