JANM and Little Tokyo

Another rainy day adventure - if this weather keeps up these will be the most cultured kids in America.

Mommy, Garrett, and Brady went to the Japanese American National Museum to run around and soak in some culture while poor daddy was at work - what we stumbled upon was the Giant Robot exhibit - very cool.  Garrett and Brady wanted to touch all of the robots though and were not too pleased they were all inaccessible and enclosed in glass cases.

Super cool museum - both the architecture and exhibits.  They also had a permanent Community Building exhibit with a lot of information and artifacts from the American internment camps.

We also ran across the street - we got lucky and it wasn't raining when we left the museum - we ate at Oiwake and discovered B LOVES udon noodles as much as G.  How could you not??!! Yum.

Yes - Garrett is wearing his astronaut suit - we were quite the crew - mommy with two rambunctious boys - and a super cute G who kept hiding from me and spent at least twenty minutes in the bathroom pooping while mommy's arms were breaking from holding B - it is also not easy balancing a 16 mo old on your knee while wiping a 3 yr old's butt (TMI, but my reality - so welcome to my world).

Plasma Cars Rock!

Go G go . . .

Good thing the one local park has a track to zoom around on - next we need to take Garrett's scooter and Brady's Y-Bike up there . . .

"G"

We have been having fun scribbling and drawing and starting to practice Gs.  Garrett is very excited.  We certainly don't want to just sit around practicing letters - making dashes and circles and lines in tons of different colors is much more fun!

Happy BDay!

Happy Birthday Pat and Lisa - we had the annual combo family birthday dinner at Ruths' Chris.

Here are a few photos from the very beginning - mommy spent the rest of the time feeding Garrett and Grady and running around the mall - the restaurant is attached to a mall and the boys found running around and exploring infinitely more exciting than an adult dinner - shocking huh??!!

Thanks NextGen

Thanks to the NextGen pass which makes a child and an accompanying adult free, we LOVE going to LACMA even more and probably go more often than we would otherwise.

Brady and mommy broke away for some alone time and ran around (literally) the Japanese Pavilion at LACMA.  We were the only visitors for most of the time - what a treat.

The architecture was as amazing as the artwork - the building spiraled up three floors and had a very (obviously) zen feel to the structure and minimalistic decor.  Not only did it not detract from the art, but it was incredibly peaceful - the lighting was ethereal and the rocks simulated zen gardens throughout the museum.

OK - Brady just liked running up and down the ramps, but maybe some culture soaked in somewhere!

We also ran around outside and had some fun since the sun has not been out much as of late - are we still in SoCal??!!  Hasn't felt much like it as of late.
