The Many Sides of Garrett

WHPS Rm 1 had their year end party at Under The Sea - a super cheesy indoor play place.  The kids LOVED it.

I don't get out much, so this offered me some entertainment and a good laugh.

Studio City Farmer's Market

So fun.  Why have we not been here before??!!  Our bad.

Garrett rode on a train around the neighborhood, we bought some yummy breads, etc., Brady went crazy over a balloon, Garrett went on the swings and rode a pony, and mom and dad sampled some yummy burgers.  The sign on their food truck cracked us up (and the Summer Special was extra yummy).

Next time - petting zoo, bouncer, and slide . . . .

We went to Sears last week for our monthly/bi-monthly photos.  Here are a few.

His skin is really bad this week though, so it makes me sad to see his photos with his face so clear - he is so itchy and red tonight.

Laguna Beach Madness

We did another local family vacation - much, much easier at this stage than a trip far away that entails flying and time zone changes, etc.

We went to the Laguna Cliffs Resort overlooking the Dana Point Harbor.  We had never seen the hotel before, but it turned out to be perfect - very peaceful, quiet (except for movie night at the local park), and VERY kid friendly.  There was a park right next door where there was tons of space for Garrett to run around - and a really clean, super cool playground.  The park attracted lots of visitors - tons of people working out and lots of early morning yoga classes.

The first day was a little rough - Garrett was in a bit of a mood, so we didn't do a whole heck of a lot - we walked (A LONG WAY THERE) to Dana Point Harbor and had lunch at the Harbor Grill.  The walk back was A LOT easier because we just crossed the street and went up a huge set of stairs that took us right into the park adjacent of the Resort.

Saturday was much better - the Marine Rescue/Rehab Facility, Ocean Institute, and swimming at the Resort.

We saw the seals being cared for (and we saw them being fed) before they are released back into the ocean . . .

We went through the Ocean Institute and the beach/tidepools . . .

And we enjoyed the better weather (and mood) by taking advantage of the splash pad and kid's pool (while Brady crawled all over the grass) . . .

Sunday we ate another great breakfast buffet and then hit the beach.

After checking out we got yummy food to go and hit another beach on the way home - with a playground to boot.

Fun to be had by all - another successful family adventure!

Museum of Flying

How cool - and loads closer than the one in Palm Desert!  Garrett flew a Fed Ex plane, another random plane, a fighter jet cockpit simulator, and another simulator which he decided was more fun not even turned on.  He got confused though - the woman from the museum that was helping us told G that the sounds was about equal to that of a vacuum cleaner and he kept asking me all day how a vacuum cleaner helped the plane fly.  Oh well.

Brady wanted to go in everything too.  Soon enough Brady, soon enough.

After that we went across the street to the Santa Monica airport Public Admin bldg where they have a free public viewing deck which is open dawn to dusk every day.  We had excellent timing and saw three planes take off and two land - we cheered them on and welcomed them back from their trips.
