WHPS Winter Show 2011

OK - this had to be one of the cutest things I have ever seen.  Especially the 2 year olds singing and dancing.  Garrett's class "performed" Jingle Bells and Follow Me (the videos aren't uploading properly - I'll try again soon).  It took Garrett awhile to get into the swing of things, but he said he LOVED singing on stage and he danced through most of the rest of the other classes' performances.  Ms. Linda said he should bag gymnastics next term and enroll in the dance, movement, and music class.  We'll leave that up to G, but I think he would really enjoy it.  We kept going up front after his performance to check on him and he was dancing each time we peeked in on him.  Below are some pix - enjoy!

Petting Zoo

Garrett and mommy went to an old school petting zoo.  What a blast.  There were tons of sheep and goats just running all over the place.  Garrett touched sheep, goats, an emu, and even rode a little horse named Bullet.  The farm also had a cow, horses, donkey, pheasants, llama, chickens, turkeys . . . Garrett loved the tiny, tiny goat that jumped up on the stump by the one tractor and let Garrett pet him and follow him all over the place with his hand on its back.  The animals seemed very used to little ones being all over them.  We bought some feed for them too, but G fed some of the animals and then dumped the remainder in a big pile - that caused quite the feeding frenzy for a few minutes.

Thanksgiving Feasts

We celebrated Thanksgiving twice - once at Auntie Julie's house and again at our house with Uncle Ed and his crew.  Jackie held her first baby - and was very sweet and gentle with Brady.  We all had a blast - especially Garrett - he played with Hannah all afternoon at Auntie Julie's house - even in the upstairs hall closet!  We're not sure why, but don't knock it when they're having good, old fashioned, safe fun.  Julie said for some reason all of the kids play in there - it's a ready made fort.  When the gang was at our place Garrett also had fun showing off the snowsuit Brenden handed down to him.  Again - sometimes ours is not to question!

Brady Kai

Brady Kai continues to grow (and grow and grow)!  He is exploring his world in new ways and working so hard on strengthening his neck and rolling over.  He is usually very chill, happy, and smiley - unless he is hungry or too hot - and then watch out - this kid has quite the set of lungs!

Halloween and A Visit to Our Local Fire Station

Garrett was a fireman (or captain as he would say) this year for Halloween - below are photos from the WHPS Halloween Parade and Party, our O'Leary-Hauser Halloween madness, Boo at the LA Zoo (where Brady slept most of the time and didn't see any animals and Garrett refused to wear his costume - which was probably smart considering it was HOT and half the kids probably suffered heat stroke in their synthetic costumes), and our private tour of the local firehouse. Brady will get in on the action next year.  He wasn't too interested in wearing a costume and slept through all of the pumpkin carving and trick or treating festivities.

Pre-Halloween Madness at Tapia Brothers Farms

Garrett wore mommy out running all over Tapia Brothers Farms - we picked out pumpkins for carving, went in the bounce house (several times), went through a spooky, dark maze together, climbed up bales of hay, counted scarecrows, "rode" on and "drove" a tractor and wagon, and climbed over as many pumpkins as possible.
