Brady Kai's Birth Announcement

Just making the official announcement . . . (plus we wanted to show off how cute he is!) . . .

What Sport Are You Going To Play???

Pantsless basketball/roller derby/not sure what the hand socks are for??!!

Hold On Tight - Don't Drop Me!!!

Brady loves his big brother Garrett, but he does appear a bit skeptical in some of these photos.  Garrett looks very proud and happy though.  Good thing dad was helping him because right after the photos were taken Garrett jumped off the couch and barreled down the hall - we had to explain that we can't just jump up and run away to play when we're holding Brady!

Soccer Shots and Brady Sleeps at Yet Another Park

Garrett started Soccer Shots this past weekend.  He learned to dribble the ball slowly with his feet (like a turtle) and faster with his feet (like a bunny).  He learned stops like with his foot on top of the ball and even played a two minute scrimmage.  It was really fun watching 12 2 - 5 year olds run all over the field trying to score a goal - hopefully in the right goal!  No worries as long as everyone is having a good time.  Garrett kicked the ball a lot, learned not to use his hands, listened to Coach Andy, and did the "Go Team" cheer with everyone at the end.   He even shared his excitement with Brady - and tried to show him his Soccer Shots hand stamp - I think Brady was still snoozing though.

Family Photos

Just some random photos for all to enjoy!  We're enjoying our time just relaxing and bonding.

Park Outing Part II

We went to Balboa Park for some more fresh air - much better than being locked in the house all day getting on one another's nerves!  We had fun playing and Brady loved getting pushed around the shaded paths away from crowds and noise - it was also a good chance for mommy to get some fresh air and move around a little!

Garrett is quite the climber and loved running around the trees and big open areas of grass.

Brady slept through the whole adventure yet again - do you see a pattern emerging here??  OK- he is only not quite a month old, so we'll cut him some slack . . .

Out and About (Finally) - Park Outing - AKA Food Trucks and LAFD

We decided it was time to hit the great outdoors - and still be able to stay away from crowds and germs.  So . . . we went to Genesta Park for some food truck madness and a visit from the LAFD.

Garrett got to "climb" a tree . . .

Eat a chicken quesadilla with avocado (and a strawberry/banana smoothie) . . .

"Drive" a fire truck . . .

And support the LAFD by sporting a new LAFD snowboaders lid hat . . .

His little brother Brady slept through it all . . .

Settling In

We're all a little tired, but Brady is eating and sleeping like a champ.  The whole family is settling into our new lives as a family of four.  Very exciting times!

Brady Kai is Born

After 22 hours of labor and a c-section, little Mr. Brady Kai entered the world on 8/21/11 at 3:21 PM.  He was 8 lbs. 8 oz. and 21".  A big, healthy boy!

Brady is an Irish name that means high spirited and Kai is a Hawaiian name that means ocean; sea loving.  We also chose a B name because Bob's maternal grandmother was born on 8/21 too and would have been 99 this year!

His big brother Garrett was extremely proud and happy to meet him.  There will be lots of adventures to come as the two boys get to know and grow up together.
