Brady and I started the most adorable Animal Education class at a super small preschool close to us - in addition to the full and part-time programs where kids can get dropped off and attend by themselves, it has great classes that toddlers can go to with their parents. It's run out of a private home and has all organic snacks; LOTS of outdoor space to run around, explore, play and get dirty; and Waldorf inspired toys and atmosphere, etc. - super homey feel and right up our alley).
We're going to go every Mon AM for awhile while Garrett is at big boy school. Each week teacher Nick from a local animal rescue and education organization will bring by a different animal to show and teach the kids about - our first class featured a hedgehog named Sonic and a black bunny named Midnight (hopefully some of the other animals will have names that are a tad bit more creative).
Brady did not want to pet Sonic, but LOVED the bunny - he said "bunny, soft." His eyes lit up - that was all mommy needed to convince me that we need to attend a few more of these classes.
They also do an art project each week about one of the animals they learned about.
Brady looked like such a big boy when he got up on the stool to wash his hands after putting on a smock and painting his bunny mask.
How did you get so big already Brady???
