Getting older (and cuter) . . .
Welcome to The O'Leary-Hauser Blog!
Written with love, honesty, and humor to let you have a peek into our lives as the boys grow and have many exciting years of fun, adventure, love, and happiness (with hopefully minimal mishaps).

Rock On
Brady is still digging his music class - we'll be moving onto something else fun and exciting soon given that he is almost walking without holding onto anything - it is already hard enough to contain him in the music room - he crawls over and takes the plug protectors out and then walks along the wall and takes the bottom cover off the refrigerator and then walks over against the cabinets and bangs the doors open and closed - you get the picture. But - for the remainder of this series of classes he will have fun banging on the drums and shaking the little shakers they pass out.
At least there are still bubbles at the end of every class!
He was very excited that the teacher made a mistake and left the mallets out from the older kids' class right before ours - he has probably been wondering where they are . . .

A Family Outing to the La Brea Tar Pits/Page Museum
Educational and fun - great combo. Believe it or not, I had never been to the La Brea Tar Pits or Page Museum, so off we went on a family adventure.
Garrett is OBSESSED with paleontologists, so he was happy to see the real thing working on cleaning some new pieces for placement in the exhibitions - but even they were overshadowed by the display of the saber tooth cat on the sloth - we stayed there forever - and Garrett asked a million questions. He thankfully ended up being more fascinated than scared, but I still think part of him still thinks that it was real.
I think Brady had even more fun at The Counter - we had lunch after the Museum before piling back into the car for nap time. Brady just like to be out and about. He is a social butterfly.

Grand Park
What more does a kid need than splashing in a fountain on a hot day?
Garrett, and Brady, and mommy originally went downtown for a drum circle, but ended up bailing on that pretty quickly and spending the rest of the time splashing in the fountain at Grand Park - the new park downtown stretching from the Music Center to City Hall had opened less than a week ago when we were there. So - it was still a hidden/secret place to play. Not for long I'm sure - especially given the unusually hot summer here in LA.
Garrett did everything possible - ran, splashed, hit the water, sat on the water, laid in the water . . .
I can't wait until next summer when Brady is running and splashing right beside him.
Mommy also got to get her nerdy love of photography out of her system - I loved the murals in the Music Center parking structure.
