No. 88

Mommy, Garrett, and Brady went to one of the local fire houses for an impromptu visit (with Garrett appropriately dressed in his fire chief outfit).

It was great - we saw (and sat in) several fire trucks, a fire chief's car, and an ambulance; watched a fire truck returning and being backed into place in the fire house, watched ladder repairs and the re-installation on the ladder truck; saw the water truck return and being serviced (and got to hold the fire hose!); and heard the 5 PM alarm test.  Whew. Quite the visit.

Don't worry Brady - for safety reasons you were in mommy's arms most of the time, but you were definitely taking it all in and in the mix.

We had a little difficulty leaving - Garrett was a little hesitant at first and then did not want to stop exploring and asking questions - OK - believe me I get it - we touched the jaws of life, a chainsaw, got to use fireman Lira's Leatherman, measured the fire truck's tires . . . fun stuff.  Fireman Lira has two kids too, so he helped mommy by explaining how fireman need to grow big and strong so they need to go home and eat growing food and how they need to have good listening ears to be able to help people.

Thanks!  Without that little bit of help, we might still be there . . . .
